As everyone in business knows, from time to time you need to step back and assess where you have come from, where you are, and where you are heading to. Sometimes these reviews are a scheduled part of your plans; sometimes events outside your control force your hand.

This weekend, our most recent review was a combination of the two.

Our IDO was planned for this past weekend, bringing to a conclusion the first phase of our project. We saw this as a logical time to carry out a comprehensive debrief of the launch and assessment of our current position.

Having taken the hard decision to reschedule the IDO, we still believed that we should carry out the audit of our project, as we had the time, were in the right mindset, and had announcements to make. We have been strengthening our leadership team and are delighted to announce that Tris Simpson has joined as CTO. Tris has over 30 years of experience in large, complex tech companies, including extensive experience in the banking sector. The fact that he is a track instructor at Silverstone for the Ferrari Owners Club was just a bonus!

First and foremost GIGCO is an IRL project. Musicians, venues, and fans all exist in the real world, with real problems and real issues that GIGCO can help resolve. Our crypto and blockchain solutions are important to the efficacy of the execution. They ameliorate the music community from the massive blow Covid-19 has struck against many avenues of income for people making a living through music. We aim to provide a meeting place for musicians and music venues to both reconnect and connect for the first time as music returns to live venues of all sizes.

With the return of live music in mind, we are proud to announce the launch of the GIGCO app, hitting the app stores in March. In May and June GIGCO will be visiting four UK cities –Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, and Bristol– to show the opportunities that our technology is capable of providing. We will be hosting events in various locations demonstrating the versatility of the app. From world-famous venues to pop-up stages, we will bring the best live music these cities have to offer. We will also be broadcasting online with our friends at Soho Radio, so if you are part of our community, but not based in the UK, you too can be a part of the GIGCO launch!

With such an exciting second quarter ahead of us, and with the disappointment of rescheduling the IDO so fresh in our minds, we looked at the strategic benefit of aligning the launch of the token alongside the launch of the IRL applications. With careful consideration, we have decided that the logical time for the IDO would be following the GIGCO on the Road events. Being able to carry out the IDO on the back of six exciting weeks of events will be of enormous value to the token, exposure for the project to the wider world, and ensure the future success of this project. The IDO will be TBA.
